Spend a day out at Torokí, a gorgeous forest and community where we’ll spend the day with an indigenous family out on a pristine peninsula on the far side of the archipelago. Learn how to make handcrafted chocolate, coconut oil from scratch and cooked with fresh caught fish and the incredible artisan crafts including traditional dresses and plant fiber woven bags.
The daytour to Torokí also includes snorkeling in a beautiful coral reef, hike through gorgeous rainforest and snacks from nature along the way!
Help support this humble community bring ecotourism to an area where you won’t see any gringos as this is what’s known as the “comarca” or indigenous land (what we in the states would call a reservation). Here the Ngäbe live a mostly subsistence life and are kind and jovial and welcome you as family.
Join me in helping create an ecotourism business for this community and communities nearby and meet Aurelio, Hilsia, their beautiful children and grandchildren and learn about the Ngäbe way of living!
Costs are still being calculated as this is a brand new tour but, with the hour and a half boat ride to and from the peninsula Valiente, keep in mind gas costs are high: $300 per one person, $440 for two.
This tour includes educational workshops, hiking beautiful rainforest and a unique snorkel experience.
