Thanks to Lukas Bell of @Bocas_Nature (on Instagram) for sharing his nature refuge of a home along with a perfectly placed birding lounge set in a garden blooming with flowers and fruits perfect for attracting local birdlife. Sitting with coffee and birding, even in the rain thanks to a roof and a long desk to place your coffee and write up some notes or say, drawing one or more of the gorgeous birds that seem to come in ever color of the rainbow, there’s no better way to spend a morning, in my opinion!
So take a seat and watch the birds as you enjoy a front row seat at Bocas Nature Lounge with a cup of coffee for the morning or even a cold beer for late afternoon enjoyment (beerding!).
And huge thanks to Lukas’ studio contribution of fantastic local music to go with the Calypso Caribbean vibe! Enjoy!
Learn more about me and my initiatives that go beyond me, a non-native working as a birding and ecotour guide in Bocas del Toro through my new, independent business as BocasBiodiversity.com. At Bocas Biodiversity, I am actively working with local indigenous youth who are interested in pursuing a career in guiding. Sadly, it’s not been easy to get students as I hoped (busy with school, taking care of siblings, helping make money etc.)..

So I am hoping to connect with the older crowd, including boat captains that might be interested in becoming bird guides while improving their english. If anyone knows any young adult between the age of 12 and up who has an undeniable interest in nature, send them my way, I’d love to get connected with them! Here you can learn more about me and my initiative, BocasBiodiversity.com.
And if you’d like to support my work to raise the natives out of the shadows and into potential careers, I would be endlessly grateful so that I can start bringing students along more of my tours, supply them with binoculars and chance to learn how to use a spotting scope, gas is a very real expense seeing as how some of my students live on different islands, school supplies and bird & wildlife guides are always important and if you’d like to sponsor a young Bocas Biodiversity student, feel free to reach out to me! Every bit counts and should you choose to kindly donate, be sure that if you’re ever to come to Bocas, I’ll give you a great experience!

You can help support my goals of reaching the young people of Bocas and helping usher them into positions they’re MADE for, this is their land and I fully intend to put myself out of a job if I can reach that goal with these up and coming youngsters that hold so much promise!
Thanks for reading and all your support from afar! It means the world to me 🙂
